MUSKEGON, Mich. — Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will award $160,000 in grant money to healthcare clinics to  help uninsured residents in Muskegon on Tuesday.

According to Blue Cross Blue Shield, Muskegon ranked in the bottom 15 percent of Michigan counties on health outcomes and bottom 10 percent on quality of life by County Health Rankings and Roadmaps. They also say Michigan clinics provide medical, dental, and mental health services to low-income, uninsured Michigan residents. Hackley Community Center provided care for more than 17,000 patients in 2015. Officials say the funds will allow Hackley to further expand dental services to students at Oakridge Public Schools at the Oakridge Teen Health Center.

Muskegon facilities include:

· $100,000 to Hackley Community Care for the Oakridge Teen Health Center
· $25,000 to the Love in the Name of Christ Free Health Clinic
· $10,000 to the City on a Hill Health Clinic
· $25,0000 to the Holland Free Health Clinic

There has been $740,000 funds donated to fifty low cost healthcare clinics across Michigan.
