ALGOMA TOWNSHIP, Mich. --  The Kent County Sheriff says a man was killed Tuesday in an officer-involved shooting north of Rockford.

The shooting was reported in the 4000 block of Summit Court NE in Algoma Township.

Sheriff Lawrence Stelma tells FOX 17 that officers were called to the area at about 7:05 p.m. Tuesday for a domestic call involving two adult brothers.

Stelma said that when the officers arrived at the scene they separated the brothers and "a fight ensued" between one of the men and the officers.  He was shot and killed by an officer.

The man's identity was not released. The other brother was not injured.

Stelma said one of the officers suffered minor injuries in the altercation.

He said the Wyoming Police Department will investigate the shooting.

This is a developing story.  We will update it as more information becomes available.
