Meeting planned to discuss dispensaries in Portage
PORTAGE, Mich. — The city of Portage hosting a meeting to write up rules and regulations for medical marijuana dispensaries hoping to open up shop.
This coming after they gave the green light on medical marijuana dispensaries at an emergency meeting last Tuesday allowing dispensaries to stay open.
The city had until December 15th to adopt an ordinance, allowing them to continue operating.
The ordinance passed 6 to 1 during an emergency hearing and the mayor says it’s a big step for the city.
An estimated 900 cancer patients in the city use medical marijuana.
That meeting is planned for this Tuesday at 7:30 PM in the city council chambers on South Westnedge Avenue.
