SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. — A Sunday morning fire destroyed a mobile home and killed at least two dogs near South Haven.
At 7:50 a.m. Sunday, South Haven Area Emergency Services responded to a fire at the Lakeshore Mobile Home Park (formerly Mitchell Brothers) on 16th Avenue in South Haven Township.
The home was fully engulfed in flames when the first units arrived at the scene, but no other nearby residences were damaged due to the fire.
One person was taken to Bronson-South Haven Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. Fire officials tell FOX 17, they were told up to four dogs were inside at the time of the fire. Two died in the fire due to smoke inhalation and a third was found running around outside, A fourth dog was not located.
There’s no word yet on what may have caused the fire.
