    BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Catholic Central Cougars have been playing the whole season in memory of Jacob Polokovich’s father, “Southside Jimmy,” who passed away in Big Rapids in October, and their run took them to the quaterfinals. The Cougars came away with the 65-43 win over Boyne City to advance to the Breslin Center.

The Chargers took on Sanford Meridian in the Quarterfinals, and Covenant Christian is headed back to the State Semifinals after a 53-30 win.

    LOY NORRIX, Mich. — Kalamazoo Christian entered the night with a 23-2 record and taking on undefeated Monroe St. Mary’s Catholic Central with a trip to the state semifinals on the line. The Comets would kept it close throughout the game but fell to St. Mary’s, 31-28.

  • West Ottawa headed to the Breslin Center after win over East Lansing

    LANSING, Mich— West Ottawa entered the night with a 23-2 record coming off an overtime victory in the Regional finals over Muskegon. The Panthers leaned on seniors Xaiver Wade who had 20 points and Tyler Bosma who chipped in 16 of his own as West Ottawa got the 58-55 victory over East Lansing.

  • Howardsville Christian falls in state quarterfinals

    PORTAGE, Mich. — Howardsville Christian made history last week by winning their first ever regional championship and looked to keep their momentum rolling in the quarterfinals against Hillsdale Academy. The run for the Eagles came to an end with a 66-38 loss.

  • Muskegon completes sweep of GR Union

    MUSKEGON Mich. — Muskegon and GR Union met twice in the regular season, with the Big Reds winning both contests. They met again in the postseason and, once again, Muskegon won, 50-39. Eonte Tornes led the way for Muskegon with 21 points. Muskegon will play Grand Haven in the district championship on Friday night.

  • Portage Central wins rubber game over rival Portage Northern

    KALAMAZOO Mich. — Portage Northern and Central split the regular season series one apiece. The Mustangs won the rubber game, 72-59, to advance to the district championship game against Kalamazoo Central.

  • Godwin Heights advances to district championship with win over Grand River Prep

    KELLOGGSVILLE Mich. — Godwin Heights took on Grand River Prep in the district semi finals. The Wolverines advanced to the district championship to take on South Christian with the 69-27 win.

  • Kent City remains undefeated with win over Western Michigan Christian

    RAVENNA, Mich— Kent City entered the night with a perfect 20-0 record and faced off against Western Michigan Christian. The Warriors put up a fight, but the Eagles win this one 49-39 to advance to the district championship against North Muskegon.
