    TALLMADGE TWP. — Police are investigating after about 50 mailboxes were found to be destroyed by vandals Thursday morning. The Walker Fire Department responded to the house fire on Grand Bluff Court around 10:00am Thursday.  There were reportedly three people inside the home at the time of the fire.  They were all able to get out safely.   • Woman’s body found on edge of Plaster Creek

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — An adult woman’s body was discovered early Thursday on the banks of Plaster Creek. Sgt.     BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A Battle Creek man is facing federal charges after investigators say he held an underage girl captive in a house while forcing her to have sex and consume hard drugs.     CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich. — Two men are facing charges in relation to firearms stolen over the weekend from an area ‘Family Farm and Home’ store. Police say that 89 guns were taken in the robbery from the business on 17 Mile Rd NE in Cedar Springs.  13 of them have so far been recovered.     MATTAWAN, Mich. — Authorities say one person was injured in an officer-involved shooting during a traffic stop Friday morning in Mattawan. Michigan State Police Lt.   • Grandville road closed due to sinkhole

    GRANDVILLE, Mich. — A sinkhole has an area road closed Friday afternoon. Viaduct Street in Grandville is currently shut down between Sanford and Kentwood Avenue due to the hole in the roadway.  The Grandville Fire Department tells FOX 17 that no other recent sinkholes have been reported in the area.  Traffic was quickly diverted to avoid any potential injuries or damage to vehicles on the road.   • Police investigating stabbing in Cedar Springs

    CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich. — Police are investigating after man was stabbed Friday morning. The Kent Count Sheriff’s Department tells FOX 17 the incident happened around 7:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Sarah Street in the Cedar Springs Mobile Estates. Authorities say a man was stabbed in the upper torso.  He was taken to the hospital for surgery, according to a release.  His exact condition is unknown at this time.
