    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Several homes were hit by bullets on the city’s west side Sunday afternoon. Grand Rapids police officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area of Crosby Street NW and Hamilton around 3 p.m. Sunday. Crews told FOX 17 a number of shell casings were found, and a couple homes in the area had been hit with bullets.     DETROIT, Mich– A pair of dogs found mutilated in the Motor City are continuing to recover from their injuries. Chandler is a six week old puppy who was found bleeding in Chandler Park earlier this month. The Detroit Dog Rescue took him in, and said he had a gash to his abdomen and that his reproductive organs were hanging out of his body.     HOLLAND, Mich– The Holland Department of Public Safety is investigating a fire that appears to have been intentionally set on Monday.   • Reward offered to find person who mutilated puppy’s genitals in botched neutering

    DETROIT, Mich– The Detroit Dog Rescue is teaming up with the Michigan Humane Society’s Cruelty Unit to find the person responsible for mutilating a young puppy. The animal, who’s been named Chandler, was found with his abdomen cut open and his reproductive organs hanging out of his body.   • Funeral set for retired Brigadier General killed in crash

    BATTLE CREEK, Mich– A Brigadier General killed in a motorcycle crash will be laid to rest this week. Police say Brigadier General Linda McTague died last Wednesday after a vehicle turned into her path on M-37 in Bedford Township, while she was riding with another motorcyclist. McTague was 59-years-old.   • Northbound U.S. 131 in Wyoming re-opens after rollover crash

    WYOMING, Mich —  A portion of northbound U.S. 131 has re-opened after a rollover crash. MDOT says the incident is between 44th Street and 36th Street. The crash was reported around 8 p.m. Details of what led up to the crash haven’t been released, but drivers say the road was backed up for miles, as far as 54th Street.

    CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A former firefighter faces up to several years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges. Investigators say Steve Drake, who was an on-call firefighter for the Cascade Township Fire Department, had sex with a 16-year-old girl who was a member of the department’s Explorers Program and exchanged lewd photos with her.
