    Fire destroys barn at trucking company in Allegan County

    HOPKINS, Mich. — A fire destroyed a barn at a local trucking/farming company in Hopkins early Friday morning. The fire started at around 3:00 a.m. at J. Jablonski & Sons near the intersection of 16th Street and 136th Avenue in Allegan County.  When firefighters first arrived, they reported heavy smoke and flames showing from the structure and immediately called for additional help.     BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Police are getting conflicting reports about what led up to a shooting that sent one teenager to the hospital.     GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Tuesday marks the tenth anniversary of IHOP’s ‘National Pancake Day’ — a fundraiser that puts free pancakes in front of customers in exchange for a donation to Children’s Miracle Network hospitals, including Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. IHOP restaurants hope to raise $3.5 million this year, which would bring the total amount raised to nearly $20 million over the last ten years.     Everyone reportedly out safe from overnight house fire near Cedar Springs

    SOLON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A handful of fire departments responded to a house fire in northern Kent County early Monday morning. It happened at around 6:15 a.m. at a home on Algoma Avenue NE in Solon Township, that’s not far from Cedar Springs. According to dispatchers, all residents were able to make it out safely.  As of 6:45 a.m., crews were still calling for additional help in fighting the fire.
