    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Police say Thearthur Alexander, 39, is the man who was arrested after a five hour standoff in Grand Rapids early Saturday morning. It happened on Friday around 9:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Leonard Street NE. Officials say Alexander was reportedly in possession of a firearm and may have held it to another person’s head.   • Man and woman die in Mason County motorcycle crash

    PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Michigan State Police say  Kenneth Lee Geurink, 71  Mary Ann Geurink, 70, of Branch Mich., both  died after a motorcycle crash on Friday evening. It happened around 8:10 p.m. along US 10 near Myers Road in Pere Marquette Township. Police say the crash involved two other vehicles. The crash remains under investigation.  

  • Police urge caution after motorcycle slams into SUV on highway

    FRUITPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 52-year-old Kalamazoo man was seriously injured after a motorcycle crashed into the back of an SUV on Saturday. According to the Fruitport Township Police Department Facebook page, it happened around noon on westbound I-96 near the 1 mile marker in Fruitport Township. Police urge drivers to drive carefully in the area of I-96 and US31 interchange and be prepared for traffic backups.  

  • Three people hospitalized after crash in Grand Rapids

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Police say three people were hurt after a crash Sunday evening. It happened around 7:10 p.m.  near the intersection of Kentridge and Weymouth in Grand Rapids. Police say the crash caused one of the vehicles to land on its side. No major road closures were reported following the crash. Everyone involved reportedly sustained minor injuries. The incident remains under investigation.

  • 3 hospitalized by crash on Kalamazoo Avenue in Grand Rapids

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids Police are investigating a crash that sent three people to the hospital. Police say the call came in around 10:15 p.m. Saturday night. The crash happened in the 4000 block of Kalamazoo Avenue SE in Grand Rapids. The injuries were non-life threatening, and all three people are expected to be okay.

  • Craig’s Cruisers expansion to include new indoor roller coaster

    WYOMING, Mich. — On Monday,  Craig’s Cruiser’s announced a $2.4 million expansion to their Wyoming family fun center . Officials said expansion will include a 36,000 feet addition. The added space will make room for a trampoline park, a new bi-level area for laser tag and an indoor roller coaster. Groundbreaking will begin at 10 a.m. on July 18th. The completion of the new expansion is set to debut February 2018.

    WYOMING, Mich. — Wyoming Public Safety Director James E. Carmody was recognized as Michigan’s Police Chief of the Year.
