Bio

I grew up in a small town with one traffic light called Edon, Ohio. After graduating from Miami of Ohio University, I headed out west to Grand Junction, Colorado where I covered a lot of wildfires. That’s also where my TV station burnt down; I had nothing to do with it. My alarm goes off at 1:45 a.m. and after hitting the snooze button two or three times, I wake up to anchor FOX 17 Morning News with my buddy, Mike Avery. Getting up in the middle of the night can be rough, but I do this job because I know I’m making a difference; even if it’s a smile or a few laughs before you head out the door to start your day. When I’m not working, I love trying new local restaurants, going to Pure Barre classes and rooting for the Chicago Bears.

One thing I could do without—

Mondays

Guaranteed to smile when I see—

My little niece, Nadaly

What keeps me going—

Long naps and coffee

Favorite Michigan Winery—

2 Lads Winery in Traverse City, MI

 My greatest TV moment—

When I chose to air a very personal story about my sister and niece being killed in a car accident. The overwhelming support I received from West Michigan after it aired makes me proud to live and work here. I went on to receive an Emmy nomination for that story and I also helped bring Ele’s Place, a grieving center for children and their families to Grand Rapids.

TV moment I’d like to forget—

Our Fit on FOX segment where Floor Director Mike Davis fell off an exercise ball. That viral video will haunt me forever.
