In September 2012, I moved here from Iowa (the only home I’ve ever known) having no clue what to expect in West Michigan, both professionally and personally. In my short time living in Grand Rapids, I’ve been blown away by the culture and life of this city and community.

My favorite part about this job is getting to hear about the drive and passion people have in their daily lives. Those are the stories that can motivate viewers and create personal change. In my opinion, those stories are the most powerful.

I’ve quickly discovered the passion definitely exists in the people of West Michigan, no matter what their area of interest may be. From the incredible creative minds at ArtPrize to the business owners across the area to the average, ordinary, everyday citizen; everyone I’ve met loves living here and loves what they do. That’s a rare thing, and people should be proud of that.
