Tim Doty

Tim Doty

I am a normal guy who has been lucky enough to have a job that’s anything but normal for the past 18 years.

It’s given me plenty of highs and plenty of lows too. It’s allowed me to experience things that most people only dream of: locker room and field passes to the biggest games, backstage passes to the best concerts, amazing meals, etc.

That said, I can’t say I dreamt of a career in TV (I took a TV production class in high school and hated it!), I was a shy kid, but something subliminal must have clicked in me. I overcame shyness and learned that I could make people laugh, keep them entertained, get those people who teased me when I was younger to pay attention just by being myself.

And that’s one of the things that I’m most proud of, that I have lasted this long, and gotten where I’ve gotten by being Tim Doty, not some clichéd “News Guy”. I’ve found that talking with (and listening to) people gets you a lot farther than talking to them.

I love the adrenaline rush that comes from being live on TV, I love learning new things every day and try my best to take a story that could be boring and turning it into it something that interests the viewer at home. Could I live without that rush? oh yeah, but I hope I don’t have to!

Someone who watches my show might define me as “that guy from TV” but friends know that there is more.

I love helping charitable causes like Special Olympics or the Arthritis Foundation, but don’t need to be introduced at the events – unless it helps raise more $$$ for the cause.

I may not like talking about myself much (funny to say that in my own bio!) but I’ll talk golf, travel or martial arts (second degree Black Belt) with you all day long.

TV may be my job, but it doesn’t define me as a person.

My interaction with people defines me.
