DETROIT, Mich—
The Tigers lost the World Series to the San Francisco Giants, in sweeping fashion Sunday night.
The Giants won 4 runs to 3, in the 10th inning atComerica Park. The game was tied 3 runs apiece, untilMarco Scutaro singled in the winning run at the top of the 10th.
Both Detroit’s Miguel Cabrera and Delmon Young hit home runs, Cabrera’s also scoring Austin Jackson, but the three runs were not enough.
Tigers manager Jim Leyland said after the game that he tips his hat to the Giants, and that the San Francisco team simply played better than the Tigers did.
