Meningitis Deaths Rise to Eight

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is now reporting eight Michigan deaths from meningitis associated with steroid injections.

The CDC reports that as of November 7, there were 124 total cases of meningitis in Michigan.

According to the Michigan Department of Community Health, the most recent Michigan death was that of an 88-year-old woman from Ingham County.

The multi-state investigation by the CDC and the Food and Drug Administration, into these cases among patients who received contaminated steroid injections is still ongoing.
