Officials Plan To Remove 12 Horses From Howell Farm

Posted

HOWELL, Mich. –

The Michigan Horse Welfare Coalition (MHWC) and Livingston County Animal Control officials made the decision to remove 12 horses from a farm in Howell because of neglect.

The removal is scheduled for Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. and comes after months of investigations and several attempts by county officials to work with the owner to properly care for her horses.

The plan to remove the horses includes moving them to the Chase Lake Equine Center in Fowlerville for further evaluation. After that, the horses will go to rescues who will continue to care for the animals until a forfeiture hearing takes place later in the month.

The MHWC has asked for donations to Hay Bank to help care for these horses and others in need around Michigan.
