Two Sought After Thursday Evening Shooting In Holland

HOLLAND, Mich.—

Police are searching for two suspects after a person was shot in Holland Thursday evening.

At 8 p.m., the Holland Department of Public Safety responded to a report of a breaking and entering at 815 E. 16th St. in Holland. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a person suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower leg. The wound was not believed to be life threatening.

Police established a perimeter and were searching for two black male suspects who fled the scene after the shooting.

Grand Valley State University spokeswoman Mary Eileen Lyon told FOX 17 NEWS that GVSU’s building in Holland was on lock down from 8 p.m. until students were escorted to their cars and allowed to leave at 9 p.m. The GVSU location is about a fourth of a mile away from the shooting scene.

The shooting incident remains under investigation by the Holland Department of Public Safety.
