Matt Pepper spent 8 years in the Navy and severed overseas during Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was there where he injured his back and lost partial feeling in both of his legs.
This year, a new organization called “Two Wheels For Warriors” wanted to design a special motorcycle just for him. Matt says he was shocked.
“It`s very emotional to think anyone would want to do something like that for me, why me?” Pepper said.
Bradley Vandenverg is the man behind the group. He created the group because he wanted to build custom motorcycles for veterans. His crew is working on two right now and chose Matt to be one of the first vets to get a bike.
“Gives me the feeling of, not as good as being back in the army, you`ll never replace that feeling. But this is darn close,” Bradley Vandenverg said.
Everything from the size, accessories and color of the motorcycle will be handpicked by Matt.
“I want to get these guys on a motorcycle and I want it to look sexy and bring attention to the awareness of their cause,” Vandenverg said.
Matt says he wanted his ride to be patriotic. He’s part of a motorcycle club that welcomes veterans home, and he wants a bike that gets everyone’s attention.
“I’ll do whatever I can to pay it forward for all future vets,” he said. “It’s very important to me that they know there are people that appreciate what they`ve done.”
