Toyota Recalls Prius For Steering Problem

Posted

TORRANCE, Calif –

Toyota announced Tuesday the recall of about 670,000 Prius cars on the possibility of problems with the car’s steering.

The vehicles are to be inspected and in some cases have part of the steering assembly replaced.

The company says part of the steering shaft was not manufactured to an appropriate degree of hardness, and the shaft could “deform.”

Some 350,000 Prius’s may also have a problem with the electric water pump.

Toyota says there have been no crashes or injuries due to the mechanical problems the led to the recall.
