A 29-year-old Ionia man has been charged with open murder in the death of Julie Danielson.
The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Department said the man has been in custody since early on in their investigation.
The suspect was an acquaintance of the victim, police added.
The case remains under investigation and the name of the suspect is being withheld pending arraignment.
Julie Danielson, 31, of Pierson Township, was found dead in the basement of her home Saturday morning.
