MUSKEGON, Mich.- A non-profit organization and a radio station are joining forces on Tuesday to Pay it Forward. The groups are giving away more than 200 turkeys, including all the trimmings, to those in need.
This is the 11th year of the giveaway by West Michigan Community Help Network and 103.7 The Beat. They started handing out the birds at noon in the parking lot of the Mayes and Wright Media Center in Muskegon.
Winners from the radio station get first dibs on the turkeys, and the rest will be handed out first come, first served. You can only get one turkey per household.
The lines for the giveaway were already long before the groups started handing out the first of the turkeys.
The groups are also be handing out hot beverages and community resource information to those in line.
