The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a male suspect, after a 27-year-old woman says she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend.
The incident happened before midnight on Tuesday, when deputies received the complaint about the assault at an apartment in the 5000 block on Meadowstone.
The woman says her ex-boyfriend assaulted her and stole her vehicle. Then he returned, and assaulted her again, but this time with a knife.
Deputies found the vehicle at the intersection of Gull and Sprinkle, where they tried to pull over the car. At Gull and Colgrove, the vehicle crashed into a business sign, and the suspect took off running.
Potential charges include felonious assault, unlawfully driving away an automobile and fleeing.
