LAKE ODESSA, Mich- Police believe a woman who was stabbed Tuesday morning may have been a victim of mistaken identity.

The incident happened just before 5 a.m. at the Lakewood Mobile Estates. A 23-year-old victim was reportedly staying with a friend when she was stabbed.

By the time police were called to the scene the victim was suffering from a number of stab wounds. She was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

Police eventually arrested a 38-year-old man, who they say had a relationship with the owner of the residence. Police think the man was targeting that person, not the young woman.

Police are still determining what charges will be filed in the case.
