Police Arrest Four in Pharmacy Robbery

PORTAGE, Mich., — Police in Portage responded to a break in alarm at West Lake Drug on the 8800 block of Portage Road on Nov. 26 at 2:25 in the morning.

An officer was on patrol and in front of the business when the alarm went off.  He checked the building and found the suspects in the pharmacy, filling a garbage can with prescription medication, including Oxcycodone and Hydrocodone.

Police found a vehicle at a nearby business and one of the suspects was hiding inside. He told police he came to Michigan with three other people from Ohio.

A police dog was brought to the scene but was not able to find the other suspects. However, about two hours later when a Portage Department of Public Safety officer was taking the first suspect to the department, he spotted the three remaining suspects. They were walking in the 8400 block of Portage Road.

Those suspects were also arrested.
