GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., — The price of gas in Grand Rapids has fallen in the last week, according to grandrapidsgasprices.com.

According to the site, the price fell 16 cents per gallon, making for an average of $3.37 per gallon on Dec. 2.

The national average has also fallen 3.7 cents within the last week, to $3.39 per gallon.

However, the Dec. 2 prices are 12 cents higher than they were a year ago, and the national average is 10 cents per gallon higher than last year’s price.

According to  Patrick DeHaan, Senior Petroleum Analyst, gasbuddy.com, the yearly average in 2012 is “all but guaranteed” to set all time record highs. In addition, DeHaan said in a news release that the nation still stands at $3.63 per gallon for the yearly average, and that gas prices would need to fall to at most $2.35 per gallon for every day left of 2012 for the yearly average to drop below 2011’s yearly average.
