ALLEGAN, Mich – A man was arrested Thursday in connection to about 80 vehicle break-ins.

Police in Allegan arrested Ken Snippe, 21, while he was riding a mountain bike at the intersection of Spurce and Cherry Street in downtown Allegan.

The officer that stopped Snippe observed footwear that was consistent with foot impressions collected at numerous auto break-in scenes.

While the officer was conducting an interview with Snippe, he was dispatched to a vehicle larceny that just occurred nearby.

Snippe was immediately arrested in connection to the crime and is reportedly cooperating with investigators.

Police say this solves about 65 similar crimes, and 15 other related crimes in the county. Four felony charges have been authorized against Snippe.

Snippe was arraigned Wednesday on one county of larceny from an automobile. Police are continuing to work on putting the other cases together.
