PORTAGE, Mich. – Police have arrested the suspect that escaped from a police cruiser on December 3.

On December 6, police found and arrested Brandon Wayne Brock, 31, without incident.

Officers were originally called to the 7500 block of South Westnedge around 1:25 a.m. on December 3 on reports of a fight in progress.

Brock was arrested for assault after officers found him attacking another person on the ground in a parking lot.

Brock was handcuffed and put in the back of a police cruiser, but he managed to crawl through the security screen that was left open and escaped.

A K-9 unit from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department was brought to the scene to find him, but Brock remained on the loose Wednesday afternoon.

Brock is now in custody and was scheduled to be arraigned on December 6.
