ZEELAND, Mich– If you have some holiday shopping to do, Zeeland is offering activities downtown, plus a way to pay it forward while you purchase unique gifts.

“Feel the Zeel of Giving” is an annual event, and this year it lasts until Friday. The downtown shops will be open, and activities will be happening each evening from 5:30 until 8.

Zeeland’s first-ever Christmas tree will adorn the area, and Santa will be on hand to take photos. Photos with Santa are taken by Marc Photography at Out of the Box Games & Puzzles, located at 135 East Main. You will get a 4×6-size photo for free, and then you can buy more if you wish.

Santa Claus will also bring two of his reindeer to Heritage Square. Vixen and Dancer will be there to meet the shoppers. A horse-drawn trolley takes visitors around for $1 per person, and the money will be given to Compassionate Heart Ministry.

The weeklong event “is a way for the local, downtown businesses to differentiate themselves from the malls this holiday season,” according to a press release. More than 15 businesses are participating.
