GREENVILLE, Mich-

Greenville Public Safety has identified the woman that was found dead in her home as Sally May Case, 38. Case’s ex-husband found her Sunday afternoon, when he went to the home to pick up their 3-year-old son.

Police say the boy was home when Case passed, and answered the door for his dad.  Tara Heminger lives next door to Case, and has a daughter around the same age as Case`s little boy.

“He was the sweetest little boy. He would hug her when he would come over here. He was a talker and my daughter isn’t as talkative. They would go outside and play on the swing sets together,” Heminger said.

Autopsy results haven’t determined a cause of death. There was a small amount of blood at the scene, but investigators don’t believe it’s foul play.

“I think the circumstances are bazaar, just the way it all went down and how the circumstances came together, but the officers handed it properly right from the start and that`s what we needed to do,” Mike Pousak, Greenville Public Safety Director said.

Heminger says her thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

“It breaks my heart for the little boy. I`m just thankful that he`s got family that I know love him and help him get through this,” Heminger said.
