KALAMAZOO, Mich – Continuing a tradition, Kalamazoo public safety officers will take 22 area children shopping for Christmas gifts today.

The event is sponsored by Meijer, for the third year, and it takes place at the Gull Road location. The store donated $2,500 for the children to spend on themselves and their families. It was designed to make sure everyone has a good holiday even during trying economic times.

“This program also allows area kids a chance to interact with Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers in a positive setting,” says the department in a press release.

The shopping starts at 6 tonight.
