Fire Raises Smoke Plume Over West Side Of Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — A fire on the west side of Grand Rapids filled the skies with smoke around noon Friday.

Tall flames shot from the ceiling of the building at 209 SW Lexington Avenue. The building contains the Lexicon Club.

Messages to dispatchers from firefighters on scene said everyone was out of the building.

    Good job ch17 got it up before anyone else. This will be a big loss for the west side, there have been a lot of wedding receptions and other parties held in the Lexicon Club over the years. Hopefully the insurance will help rebuild.
