MATTAWAN, Mich. – The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department along with the Mattawan Police Department are investigating what is believed to be related arson incidents.
Around 12:10 a.m. Wednesday deputies were dispatched to Car Connection on Red Arrow Highway for a vehicle on fire. Deputies found that someone had thrown a molotov cocktail at a vehicle and it landed on the roof. The vehicle caught fire, but it was put out before the vehicle was a total loss.
Mattawan Police also responded to three incidents inside the White Pines Trailer Park where someone threw one molotov cocktail under a car, one in front of a trailer, and the third hit a trailer, breaking the window. In all three of those incidents, the fires were put out before any extensive damage was done.
