GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Bethel Abundant Life Center Church is closing its doors after almost two decades at their building at 834 Lake Drive Southeast in Grand Rapids.  Dan Calabrese has been a member there for a year and a half, and says he knew quickly it was the place for him.

“This is awesome. The worship was spirit filed, there was enthusiasm for the lord, and it was exactly what we were looking for. We never tried another church,” Calabrese said.

The church is moving to an old Family Fare building in Grandville. James Williamson serves as the associate pastor for the church and  says the move is part of a vision that was created by the founders of the church.

“We are a church in the heart of the city, but the city is in the heart. The city is still in the heart. We may not be in the heart of the city, but now we are looking at being a ministry to the entire area. Not just the city or the urban area,” Williamson said.

Dan lives in Grandville, and was excited to hear about the move. He’ll live close enough to the new church that he can ride his bike there every Sunday.

“I can see what this church can bring to that community and will bless both the church and the community,” Calabrese said.

The members will spend the next 3 to 4 months holding services at Living Word Christian Center on Kalamazoo until their new building is ready.
