Metro Health Seeing More Flu Related Cases

KENT COUNTY, Mich. – The number of flu related illnesses are up this year.

 Metro Health Hospital has treated 260 people each day over the past few days, with the majority of them having flu-like symptoms

 If you feel sick, contact your physician.

 A spokesperson for Metro Health said antiviral medication is most effective within the first three days  of feeling the symptoms.

 Doctors said the  best preventative measure against the flu is to get a flu shot and to wash your hands regularly.
