GR Business To Close, 180 Workers Notified

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A Grand Rapids business has notified 180 workers that their place of employment is scheduled to close.

Kimberly-Clark Professionals announced on Monday that it will be closing its Belmont Mill.

The Belmont Mill produces work zone safety products, such as, safety flags, barricades and barrels.

This decision was made after the company decided to exit from the work zone business.

Meetings were held monday to inform the employees of the plan to close the mill.

The company said that eligible employees will receive severance packages.

Once the mill closes in June, the company will market the property to interested parties.
