PORTAGE, Mich.– Portage Public Schools are holding a hearing to sever the contract with the superintendent.
On Dec. 14, 2012, the board of education suspended Richard Perry with pay. The decision was made after the school district learned of his relationship with another district employee.
Upon Perry’s suspension, the board named Rob Olsen as the acting superintendent. Olsen had previously been working as assistant superintendent for the district.
The meeting will be held on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013. The time has not been determined.
The district said it is Perry’s right to decide if the hearing will be open to the public.
As of Friday, Jan. 11, the hearing was open.
