Double Rollover Kills One, Injures Four

WATERVLIET, Mich. — A Benton Harbor man died and three others were sent to the hospital in a Thursday night crash on I-94.

Both vehicles in the crash rolled and ended up on their roofs around 7:37 p.m. on I-94 near M-140 in Watervliet Township.

A vehicle driven by Joan Muske, 67, of Watervliet, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Robert McCoy, 87, of Benton Harbor. McCoy died, and three others were hurt. Two patients were sent to Lakeland Hospital in Watervliet and one was taken to Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

Muske’s vehicle had two passengers. Police did not give the identities of those taken to the hospital.

Weather was not a factor in the crash, said police, and investigation of the incident will continue.
