GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — Lake-effect snow showers have struggled to develop heavy bands Sunday night, which is reducing the amounts expected around West Michigan through the day Monday.

As you can see by the above image, the totals through Tuesday morning will now likely end up in the two to four inch range near the lakeshore, with some isolated heavier pockets still possible.  Inland locations will pick up no more than an inch or two during that time.

Blowing and drifting will reduce visibility at times, especially Monday afternoon.  This will be more of an issue considering the very fine nature of the snowflakes.

Temperatures will hold in the teens during the day Monday, with wind chills likely around or below zero in the afternoon into Monday night.

Periods of lake-effect snow will continue off and on into the middle of the week.  You can check out interactive radar and the 7 Day Forecast on the Weather page.
