MARNE, Mich. — Another pileup of cars, trucks, and semis has been taking place on I-96, this time in the westbound lanes.

Scanner traffic from Kent County Dispatch, Ottawa County dispatch, and Michigan State Police, indicated there were at least three semis involved, including one that jackknifed.

The westbound lanes were closed at 8th Avenue, but one lane was open by 12:15 p.m.

Dispatch calls on the pileup first went out around 11:25 a.m., with multiple reports of cars in the ditch.

The eastbound lanes appeared to be unaffected.

Once again people need too use their god given brain and Slow Down!!!!!! Put down the blasted cell phone or anything else. Turn on the vehicles headlights on Low Beams, not just partway or parking lights only, ALL the way!!! Keep them clean so others can see them, since just because that moron thinks can see ok don't mean everyone else can see them and not up too them. Along with that clean the snow of windows! If people would do that I dare say over 90% of accidents would stop.
I just wonder why that is so hard a concept for people too grasp now?

I was in this! I was the last truck to make it out! A truck jack knifed directly behind me and fell into a ditch- the driver was banged up but the local sheriffs just stood there doing nothing!

They didn't go see if any of the drivers were safe or anything! I popped the brakes on my truck and ran out to check on the guys behind me that had just gone into ditches or laid their trucks on their sides.

    Slow down folks!
