ZEELAND, Mich. — Buildings at Zeeland East High School were evacuated during early classes Thursday.
There were reports of a smell of gas, so students and staff were told to leave the buildings until it was determined conditions were safe inside.
Students were taken to Zeeland West High School – which is literally across a courtyard.
The transportation department was on standby in case they need to do further evacuations from either facility, and Semco (the gas company) is doing its investigation of Zeeland East.
