WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — The lake-effect snow hasn’t even ended yet in many spots, and now a system is moving in to give us another round of accumulating snow. This map shows the forecast snow amounts by Noon Saturday. Most areas will pick up another 1 to 3 inches overnight tonight into Saturday morning. However, southwest winds will grab some moisture from Lake Michigan, so parts of Allegan, Ottawa, and Kent Counties will see a little more. Some areas in those counties will end up with another 6 inches.
Despite the recent snows, we are still well below normal for snowfall this winter. In Grand Rapids, the total so far is 25.0 inches, and this is 25.6 inches below normal. In Muskegon, the total of 40.8 inches is about two feet below normal.
