MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich- He put his life on the line for our country, and now a wounded veteran from Michigan finally has a place to call home.

After spending the past year and a half at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Sgt. Davin Dumar and his wife Dana walked into their new home in the Metro Detroit area this week.

Sgt. Dumar has been recovering after losing his leg and both of his hands after an improvised explosive device went off while he was serving in Afghanistan.

After hearing his story, the group Enter Operation Finally Home teamed up with Pulte Homes of Michigan and their vendors to give him a mortgage-free home.

“I don’t know what to say. It’s so overwhelming. I can’t believe I am a homeowner,” says Sgt. Dumar.

The serviceman says the new home is also a bonus since it’s so close to his father and his in-laws.
