The National Weather Service has hoisted new advisories for more accumulating snow through Monday. Although not everyone is affected, anyone south and west of Grand Rapids or taking a trip to Chicago to start the work week will be impacted.

LAKE-EFFECT SNOW ADVISORIEShave been posted for Ottawa, Allegan, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, and Berrien Counties through 7:00 PM on Monday. An additional three to six inches are possible in these locations through Monday with some isolated (locally higher) amounts. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has been posted for Calhoun, Cass, St. Joseph, and Branch Counties through 1:00 PM Monday for two to four inches possible through Monday.

There is a weak Clipper system (a fast-moving low pressure area) that will track just south of Michigan. This system will spread snow across these areas tonight through Monday and create hazardous and slippery conditions for the Monday morning commute. Unfortunately, the snow will not end Monday. Another Clipper system dropping in from Canada will spread morning accumulating snow (probably another 2 to 4 inches) across the area Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Temperatures are expected to warm later this week (into the weekend) to around 40 with some rain possible by Sunday. That may pose flooding threats with liquid precipitation and warmer temps with all the snow over the area now. Make sure to stay tuned to later forecasts.
