Forecast Update: Tuesday Afternoon Snowfall

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The first attempted wave of snow mostly fell apart as it approached West Michigan Tuesday morning, and snow accumulations will not be particularly high through the afternoon.

Most areas will see one to two inches of snowfall, although that will come in the window of just a few hours Tuesday afternoon and evening.  That snow will still have the potential to slow traffic down significantly on the afternoon commute.

Some minor lake enhancement may lead to slightly higher snow totals near the Lake Michigan shoreline.  More snow is on the way Thursday after a break Wednesday.

Chief Meteorologist Rick Mecklenburg will have updates on the snow this afternoon and evening on FOX 17 News, on the Weather page, and on the FOX 17 Facebook page.
