GRAND HAVEN — (FOX 17) — A flood warning remains in effect along the Grand River in Robinson Township, and now the National Weather Service is expecting the flooding to be a little worse than originally thought.
On Wednesday, the ice jam near the U.S. 31 drawbridge continues to hang tight, and this is allowing water levels to rise upstream. Just on Wednesday evening alone, the water has risen another 0.3 of a foot.
Here is the latest information from the National Weather Service:
- At 9:40pm Wednesday, the stage was 14.9 feet. Flood stage is 13.3 feet.
- Minor flooding is occurring now and moderate flooding is forecast.
- The river is expected to rise to 15.3 feet by Friday morning.
- The river is forecast to fall below flood stage Sunday.
