10:30 Weather Update: Snow Arriving in Metro Grand Rapids

This is an archived article and the information in the article may be outdated. Please look at the time stamp on the story to see when it was last updated.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A band of moderate to heavy snow stretched from southern Kent County toward South Haven as of 10:30 A.M.

A number of viewers in the Holland area reported seeing “a TON” of “big flakes” as that band moved onshore after 9:00 A.M.

Roads may quickly become snow-covered where the heavy snow falls this morning.  More snow will develop into the afternoon, and the heaviest bands will likely shift northward during that time.

New computer model information shows little reason to change the current snowfall forecast:

Snow forecast

Snowfall forecast through Friday morning, 2/8/13 will continue to have updates throughout the rest of the day, with detailed coverage on FOX 17 News this evening.
