GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Community members and stakeholders concerned about the increasing crime and homicide rates in Grand Rapids will take a pledge of support for the “STOP IT: A Grand Rapids Community Involvement Initiative”.

The open meeting will be held on Thursday, February 7 at 5:00 p.m. at Gerald R. Ford Middle School.

LINC Community Revitalization Inc., one of the main organizers of STOP IT, will host the meeting. They will also administer the pledge, which includes a commitment to stand together against violence, corruption and harm to the community.

The meeting will also give these individuals the opportunity to share their concerns about the recent surge in violence and offer suggestions as to how it can be reduced.

Following the recent spike in violent crime in Grand Rapids, LINC joined together with local clergy and representatives from various community organizations to form STOP IT.
