DECATUR TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A home invasion investigation led to the arrest of four people on a variety of charges Friday in Van Buren County.

At 7:35 p.m. Friday, troopers from the Michigan State Police Paw Paw post responded to a report of a home invasion on 89th Avenue west of M-51 in Van Buren County’s Decatur Township. During the investigation a suspect was identified and located.

When contact was made with the suspect, it was determined that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.  Subsequent canvassing of the area led to the arrest of three more people on unrelated charges.

One person was jailed for first-degree home invasion; a second for being a felon in possession of a firearm; a third for possession of methamphetamine; and a fourth for absconding from parole plus another misdemeanor warrant for defrauding an innkeeper from the Coloma Township Police Department.

The Van Buren County Sherriff’s Department and Decatur Police Department assisted the Michigan State Police at the scene.
