Fire Officials Investigating Failed Alarms At Norton Shores Apartment Fire

NORTON SHORES, Mich — Fire officials were back at the scene of the Lake Forest Apartments to investigate the cause of the fire that left 12 families displaced and to pinpoint what caused the alarm pulls to not function.

According to fire officials all inspections on the fire alarms were up to date.

At 1:17 a.m. Saturday, the Norton Shores Fire Department responded to a fire at the Lake Forest Apartments at 581 Lake Forest Lane in Norton Shores. Two apartment buildings with 12 apartments each were evacuated.

The cost of the damage is estimated at $750,000.
