WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — After a sunny and mild day Wednesday with high temperatures near 40 degrees, it appears that winter will be making a return on Thursday and continuing into the weekend.
This image shows how much snow to expect by Friday morning. Most areas will see very little. However, some colder air moving in Friday could generate some heavier lake-effect snow showers Friday night into the upcoming weekend. This is especially true for areas along and south of I-96 and west of U.S. 131.
Seasonal snowfall totals remain below normal. In Grand Rapids, the total so far is 44.6 inches, which is over a foot below normal. In Muskegon, the total is 65.9 inches, which is 7.1 inches below normal.
