WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — After a mild day with some rain, colder air is starting to move in allowing the rain to change over to some snow.
This is the latest image from FOX 17 radar. The pink represents a rain/snow mix. Although there could be some briefly heavy snow this evening, temperatures remain well above freezing, so travel problems will be minimal. Snow accumulations tonight shouldn’t be any more than an inch or two.
However, as even colder air moves in Friday afternoon, areas near the lakeshore will start to get some heavy snow. All the counties along the lake are under a lake-effect snow watch from Friday Evening through Saturday afternoon. Some parts of Allegan, Van Buren, and Ottawa Counties could end up with 10 inches of snow by the end of the weekend. Areas east of U.S. 131 will have very little snow.
